Our Commitment to Accessibility
RT Olson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning is committed to making its website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or display magnification. We believe that access to information about plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services should not depend on a visitor’s physical ability or the device they use.
This site has been built with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the current benchmark for accessible web content recognized by accessibility professionals and government agencies alike.
What We’ve Done to Support Accessible Browsing
Our pages are structured with semantic HTML so that screen readers can interpret headings, navigation, and content in a logical order. Images include descriptive alternative text. Color contrast across the site is maintained at ratios that meet WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds, and interactive elements — buttons, links, and form fields — are reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
Forms on the site, including our contact and estimate-request forms, are labeled so that assistive technologies can identify each field clearly. We avoid relying on color alone to convey meaning, and we do not use content that flashes or strobes in ways known to trigger photosensitive responses.
We test our pages across common screen readers and browsers as part of our ongoing maintenance process. That said, the web is a moving target — plugins, embedded content, and platform updates can introduce gaps we haven’t caught yet.
Known Limitations
We are a small, locally operated contractor, not a dedicated web-accessibility firm. Some third-party tools embedded in the site — scheduling widgets, map embeds, or review platforms — are maintained by outside providers and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA on their own. We flag accessibility issues to those vendors when we find them, but we cannot guarantee their compliance.
