History of Jurupa Valley, California
Jurupa Valley California is a city located in Riverside County. The city has a population of over 100,000 people and is the 10th largest city in Riverside County.
Jurupa Valley California was incorporated on July 1, 2011 and is the newest city in Riverside County. The city is made up of several unincorporated communities, including Mira Loma, Glen Avon, Pedley, Sunnyslope, and Rubidoux.
The area that is now Jurupa Valley California has a long history dating back to the days of the Spanish Missionaries.
In the late 1700s, Jurupa Valley was part of Rancho Jurupa, which was a large rancho that encompassed over 50,000 acres. The rancho was originally granted to Juan Bautista Alvarado, a Spanish solider, by the Spanish Crown.
After the Mexican-American War ended in 1848, Rancho Jurupa was divided up and sold off to American settlers.
In the early 1900s, the area began to grow rapidly as farmers took advantage of the rich soil and climate to grow crops. The area became known for its agriculture, especially its citrus industry.
As the 20th century progressed, Jurupa Valley California slowly transformed from a rural agricultural community into a more suburban area. This transformation was spurred on by the construction of the Riverside Freeway (Route 91) in the 1960s, which made Jurupa Valley more accessible to people commuting into Los Angeles.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Jurupa Valley saw a surge in population as families moved to the area in search of affordable housing.
Today, Jurupa Valley California is a thriving community that offers its residents a suburban lifestyle with easy access to the amenities of a large city.
The city is home to several parks, golf courses, and other recreation facilities. Jurupa Valley California is also home to a growing number of businesses and industries, making it an ideal place to live and work.
